No time to stop and catch our breath there are too many thrilling updates. Excitement is building as we prep for our appearance on the hit TV show “Shark Tank”, Sam Sheffer of Mashable continues to put the M1™ through its paces, we have more news on production and shipping milestones, we conclude the PowerShift Battery™ discount, a quick update on ordering M1s, and a long awaited update on the Inboard Vision™ Mobile app for iOS! Let’s dive in!
We're overwhelmed with the support and excitement we've received from all of you for the upcoming appearance on Shark Tank!
"How did you get picked for Shark Tank? When did you record the episode? Did you get a deal? Did you shake Mark Cuban’s hand? Is Lori as glamorous in real life as she is on TV? Was Kevin mean to you?" We've gotten these and many other great questions, but we can't answer them until our episode of “Shark Tank” airs.
Our friends at the Santa Cruz New Tech MeetUp, Santa Cruz Works, and Santa Cruz Waves have organized a small live Q&A to immediately follow the west coast airing of our episode. On top of that, the local community will be recording the event via Facebook Live, so you can join us too!
Maverick marketer and Santa Cruz local Guy Kawasaki has graciously offered to moderate the event as well.
RSVP on our Facebook page then watch the live stream to start at 9:30pm PST on 12/2. You can ask questions of the Inboard team directly through Facebook Live on your mobile or desktop. We’ll have Ryan, Chris, Dave, and Theo all available to answer your questions.
Sam Sheffer continued to put the M1 through its paces over the long holiday weekend. He posted a great video of his initial thoughts late on Sunday night. On Monday he treated everyone to another Facebook Live ride through the streets of NYC via Mashable’s Facebook page. Sam has also been posting a bunch of snaps to his Snapchat, so make sure to follow him there too. He’ll have the M1 for a while, so we’re excited to see even more from Sam in the near future.
All Kickstarter boards are almost out the door! We’re excited to fulfill these orders and start shipping pre-orders. Thank you again to everyone for your patience and support through this journey. We literally could not have done this without you!
Many customers have left great reviews of their long-awaited M1’s on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the comments section of our blog. Overwhelmingly people have said the M1 was well worth the wait. Dave and Nate are working to pull together these reviews into a single place so it's easier to see them.
Back in October we issued a 15% PowerShift battery discount for all customers. That promotion was going to conclude at the end of October, however we ran out of allocated PowerShift batteries. We were able to get more batteries allocated so we could keep the discount going, but we're almost sold out. We'll be concluding the 15% off battery discount on Thursday 12/1 at 9pm PST. So, if you want an extra battery before the orders from the "Shark Tank" airing hit, now would be the time.
If you’ve been on the fence about ordering an M1, we recommend to place your order now. All orders placed before Friday 12/2 will be shipped by the end of January 2017. January might seem like a long way off, but it's right around the corner.
We expect an increase in traffic to the Inboard website once “Shark Tank” airs. Any orders coming in as a result of this episode will be put at the end of the delivery queue. Our priority is, and always has been to fulfill the remaining Kickstarter orders first, then all of the existing pre-orders. All orders received after 12/2 will be fulfilled after that. “Shark Tank” orders will in no way affect Kickstarter and pre-order customer shipping schedules.
The Inboard Vision app is available. You can download it from the Apple App store now.
The app allows you to control your M1, access its settings, and connect with our customer support team directly from your iOS device. It allows you to upgrade your M1 firmware, which provides critical performance updates to your board on a regular basis. In this first version of the app, we will have a firmware update that will: fix minor bugs, improve regenerative braking power recovery, increase Bluetooth security, and revise the RFLX remote battery overcharge warning.
We know everyone is eagerly anticipating the Custom riding mode, which will allow you to set your own acceleration and braking curves, and unlock the maximum speed of the M1. But that will NOT be available in this first firmware update. We are still performing testing on that version and will be pushing it out as soon as it completes our rigorous testing process. Thanks to the revolutionary Manta Drive, firmware updates can completely change and improve how the M1 rides and performs. We’re going to continue to update your M1 over time, making constant improvements. If you have feedback about the M1 you can submit requests to our customer support team directly via the iOS app or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Development of the Android version has already started, so stay tuned for updates on its availability. For more information on the Inboard Vision App, check out http://inboardtechnology.com/vision-app.
